New season 2025 – promotion & relegation involving Premier Division and Division One.
PREMIER DIVISION criteria:
2nd XIs now have to win D1 to qualify for promotion into Premier (unless extenuating circumstances apply).
Broseley: no supporting Saturday 2nd XI – will only qualify if its 2nd XI joins the Saturday section (unless extenuating circumstances apply).
Quatt 2: (1st XI in Prem) – will only qualify if the team wins D1 and its 1st XI is promoted into the Birmingham League.
Wellington 2: (1st XI in Prem) – will only qualify if the team wins D1 and its 1 st XI is promoted into the Birmingham League.
Worfield 2: no supporting Saturday XI – will only qualify if the team wins D1, its 3 rd XI joins the Saturday section, and its 1st XI remains in the Birmingham League (unless extenuating circumstances apply).
Shifnal 2: will only qualify if the team wins D1 and its 1st XI remains in the Birmingham League (unless extenuating circumstances apply).
Shrewsbury 2: will only qualify if they win D1 (unless extenuating circumstances apply).
No restrictions on Newport, Oswestry, Bomere Heath, Frankton, Cound, Chirk.
DIVISION ONE criteria:
Promotion from Division Two – only teams with Clubmark are eligible.
Only clubs with a 2nd XI (can be Sunday) will be allowed into D1.
The league committee will inspect the grounds of clubs in the promotion frame from D2 to ensure suitability at the end of the season.
The league’s Membership & Structure sub-committee, and subsequently the full committee, will meet on Monday, September 29 to determine placings for 2026.
All clubs will be notified of the decisions on the morning on Tuesday September 30.
Full details will be released the following day, Wednesday October 1.
OTHER DIVISIONS
All promotion, relegation, and placements will be decided in the first half of November. Details to follow.
